WHERE THE MONEY GOES
FINANCE & REPORTING
Financial transparency means being able to explain how funds are received, restricted, approved, spent, reconciled and reported—without overstating what the Foundation can prove.
FINANCIAL TRANSPARENCY
CLEAR RECORDS. CLEAR PURPOSE.
Every material transaction should be traceable to an approved purpose and supported by appropriate records. Restricted support should be tracked against the purpose for which it was accepted.

Restricted funds should be recorded against the accepted purpose. Unrestricted funds may be directed to the area of greatest assessed need.
Material expenditure should have proportionate approval and consider value, quality, urgency, safety, local availability and conflicts.
Transactions should be supported by payment records, invoices, receipts or other appropriate evidence and reconciled to programme or operating records.
Suspected theft, bribery, diversion or falsified records should be escalated. Material reporting errors should be corrected transparently.
IMPACT REPORTING
ACTIVITY IS NOT OUTCOME
We distinguish what was delivered from what changed because of it. Estimates should be labelled, duplicate counting avoided, and limitations disclosed.

DONATIONS & REFUNDS
DONOR CLARITY
Online payments may be processed by third parties. Duplicate, mistaken or unauthorised donations may be reviewed for refund and may require payment verification.
- No tax-deductibility claims unless verified.
- Restricted-purpose terms should be respected.
- Payment and receipt processes should be clearly explained.
- Refund decisions should be consistent and documented.

HOW PEOPLE ARE PROTECTED
SAFEGUARDING & POLICIES
Policies exist to protect people, resources, data and the integrity of the Foundation. They should be practical, understood by the people who need them, and reviewed as risk or law changes.

SAFEGUARDING
Abuse, exploitation, harassment, grooming, trafficking and intimidation are incompatible with Foundation work.
- Child and vulnerable-person safety comes before publicity or operational convenience.
- Consent should be informed, appropriate and revocable where applicable.
- Concerns should have a safe escalation pathway and be handled sensitively.
VOLUNTEER CODE
Volunteers should work within their competence, follow safety directions, respect confidentiality and never use Foundation access for personal, political or commercial advantage.
COMPLAINTS & FEEDBACK
Concerns should be acknowledged, assessed impartially, escalated where serious, and handled without retaliation against people who raise genuine issues in good faith.
DATA & PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONPrivacy, stories, images and website use.
PRIVACY & DATA
Personal information should be collected only when reasonably needed, protected proportionately and retained only as long as necessary for legal, operational or reporting purposes.
STORYTELLING & CONSENT
Images and stories should preserve dignity, avoid exploitation, protect sensitive information and use appropriate consent—especially where children or vulnerable people are involved.

COMPLIANCE & INTEGRITYControls, breaches and periodic review.
POLICIES & COMPLIANCE
Policies should have clear ownership, review dates and escalation pathways. Where local law is stricter, the stricter legal requirement should be followed.
FINANCIAL INTEGRITY
Fraud, theft, bribery, kickbacks and diversion of charitable resources are prohibited. Conflicts should be disclosed and managed.
POLICY REVIEW
Policies should be reviewed for changes in law, operating practice and risk. Material breaches should be documented and addressed with proportionate corrective action.

PARTNERSHIP STANDARD
DUE DILIGENCE BEFORE ASSOCIATION.
Potential partners may be reviewed for ownership, reputation, conflicts, sanctions exposure and alignment with safeguarding and mission standards. The Foundation may decline or end relationships where legal, ethical, safeguarding, reputational or mission risks become unacceptable.
IMPORTANT
Before publication, verify the Foundation’s legal entity name, registration status, charity/tax status, governing jurisdiction, contact details and donation receipt/refund process. This section should not imply tax deductibility or regulatory registration unless those facts are confirmed.
